ENHANCEMENT PLAN

Downtown Bloomsburg Inc. has coordinated the development of an enhancement plan for Downtown Bloomsburg. The plan addresses a variety of areas including property reuse and improvement, green space, pedestrian and traffic flow, parking, zoning, and incentive programs for businesses and property owners. The goal is to keep the downtown a place where people want to gather, eat, shop, and operate a business well into the future.

Just One Example:

Miller Avenue Improvements

Imagine this service alley being made into a bright, pleasant, and safe walkway for pedestrians. In doing so, the alley would safely connect Main Street to such amenities as The Greenly Center, Rose Marie’s, Brennan’s Big Chill, Phillips Emporium, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble in the Alvina Krause Theatre, and easy-to-access parking spots. These enhancements could also elevate what is already an entertainment district to the next level. This is just one small piece of the downtown that can be utilized more effectively and more attractively. Imagine what could be accomplished for the rest of the downtown with vision and thoughtful planning.

This project is scheduled for completion in 2021.
